Turkish TV powerhouse Ay Yapim, through its Singapore-based subsidiary AI Yapim, has launched “Castle Walls” ( “Surlar” in Turkish), an AI-generated historical drama, on Prime Video. This two-episode series, each 15 minutes in length, is being heralded as the first show made entirely with artificial intelligence to premiere on a major global streaming platform worldwide. “Castle Walls” delves into the mysterious narrative surrounding present-day Iran’s Alamut Castle, a location popularized by Ubisoft’s video game “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.”

The short series was penned by acclaimed Turkish television veterans Kerem Deren and Çisil Hazal Tenim, known for their work on “El Turco.” According to an Ay Yapim statement, the production employed AI from start to finish for “prompt enhancement and creative development.” This involved a proprietary AI storyboard system developed in-house by AI Yapım and AYDNA, a video diffusion model. Crucially, AYDNA was trained exclusively on Ay Yapim’s own licensed content catalogue, ensuring that “every element of the AYDNA training pipeline was built on rights-managed material,” distinguishing it from many other AI productions that may rely on datasets of unclear origin.

The development of “Castle Walls” spanned over a year, utilizing a sophisticated blend of AI technologies. ChatGPT was instrumental for “prompt enhancement and creative refinement,” as disclosed in an October 2025 statement. Generative artificial intelligence program MidJourney was employed for “visual exploration and inspiration.” For character integration, AI video generator Runway and the Google Nano Banana image generating and editing tool were utilized. Additionally, Veo, Kling, ComfyUI, and Topaz contributed to “video generation and cinematic execution.” While an earlier statement mentioned Runway and AI voice generator ElevenLabs for “voice and dubbing,” Ay Yapim later specified that the series is “dubbed in every language by real human voice artists” and “acting performances are not AI-generated,” underscoring the vital human element in the final production.

The production journey itself highlights the rapid evolution of AI in content creation. The first episode was crafted using an “inpainting technique that predates the current generation of image-generation tools,” a process completed before the widespread adoption of now-ubiquitous models. By the second episode, more advanced generative AI technologies were seamlessly integrated into the production pipeline.
