The Accord Alliance Movement (AAM), a prominent support group, officially reaffirmed its unwavering backing for Dr. Gbenga Joel Olawepo-Hashim's 2027 presidential ambition during the group's inauguration ceremony held in Abuja. This event marked a significant step in mobilizing support for Hashim's bid for the nation's top office.
During the inauguration, Hon. Light Adah Adoko, the Director-General of the Accord Alliance Movement, voiced strong concerns regarding alleged attempts by certain individuals within the Accord Party to impede Hashim’s emergence as the party’s presidential candidate. Adoko firmly asserted that Dr. Olawepo-Hashim remains the sole presidential aspirant for the party, emphasizing that any action to deny him the party’s ticket would constitute a direct challenge to the principles of internal democracy within the Accord Party.
Adoko further elaborated on the core mission of the support group, stating that its establishment was primarily to uphold and promote internal democracy within the Accord Party. Additionally, a crucial objective of the AAM is to actively mobilize widespread support for Dr. Hashim's presidential ambition in anticipation of the crucial 2027 general election. The group plans to undertake extensive nationwide mobilization efforts to broaden its membership base and strengthen grassroots support for both Hashim and the Accord Party.
In his address, Adoko also critically assessed the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu. He expressed strong disapproval of the government's handling of pressing national issues, including escalating insecurity, persistent economic challenges, and the continuous rise in the cost of living. Adoko concluded that the country is in dire need of a transformative change in leadership to address these critical issues effectively.
The event garnered a substantial turnout, with numerous members of the support group and dedicated supporters of the Accord Party present. Attendees collectively pledged their continued commitment to mobilizing robust support for Dr. Hashim’s presidential aspiration and the Accord Party as preparations for the upcoming 2027 polls intensify. Adoko urged all members and supporters to maintain unity and solidarity during this crucial period.
