ABC Sets Fall 2025 Premiere Dates, Locks In Return of '9-1-1' and Launch of 'Nashville' Spinoff

ABC has locked in its fall 2025 premiere schedule, headlined by the return of veteran drama 9-1-1 and the launch of new spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville, which joins the lineup on Thursday, October 16.

The network confirmed the rollout Thursday after wrapping a season that delivered the top five broadcast programs in Adults 18-49. It also led all broadcasters in total Emmy nominations.

Franchise creator Ryan Murphy executive produces the new Nashville-set series alongside Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani, who also serves as showrunner. 9-1-1: Nashville stars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, and Hailey Kilgore.

ABC’s scripted schedule opens Tuesday, September 16, with Season 2 of breakout hit High Potential at 10 p.m. The Dancing with the Stars 20th anniversary season leads into it at 8 p.m.

The Golden Bachelor returns on Wednesday, September 24, with a two-hour premiere. Shark Tank follows at 10:01 p.m. Starting October 1, the Wednesday block expands to include Shifting Gears at 8 p.m. and Abbott Elementary at 8:30 p.m.

Fridays kick off September 26 with the debut of Ryan Seacrest as host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune at 8 p.m., followed by 20/20.

On Sunday, September 28, America’s Funniest Home Videos returns at 7 p.m. The 8 p.m. slot goes to The Wonderful World of Disney, starting with the broadcast premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Additional movie titles this fall include Elemental, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Monday Night Football begins September 8 with Vikings at Bears.

ABC previously announced that American Idol, The Bachelor, Celebrity Jeopardy!, The Rookie, Will Trent, and the new Scrubs reboot will return in 2026. Dates for those premieres will follow.
