Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that the 2027 elections will not only be free and fair but also peaceful.

Speaking at an interdenominational church service in Amagoro, Teso North Constituency, Busia County, Kindiki urged Kenyans to ignore remarks made by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua regarding election-related violence.

He also cautioned Kenyans against being incited to violence and called for the unity of all Kenyans.

“We stand for the unity, stability and indivisibility of our Country, where every citizen has access to opportunities and socio-economic prosperity. Any leader, their political or religious affiliation notwithstanding, inciting or fanning ethnic animosity is unpatriotic and retrogressive”, he said.

He added, “Politicians whipping emotions ahead of the 2027 General Election at the expense of development programmes and projects tailored to transform the lives of citizens from the grassroots are insensitive and anti-people”.

Kindiki vowed that the government would remain steadfast in its efforts to develop and empower the Kenyan people

The Kenya Kwanza Administration will equitably develop every part of our Country and empower the citizens through transformative, life-changing programmes in agriculture, education, health, water, roads, markets and energy.

The Deputy President was accompanied by among other leaders CS Environment and Forestry Deborah Mlongo, the area MP Oku Kaunya, Teso South MP Mary Emase, Nambale MP Geoffrey Mulanya, Vihiga County Woman Rep Beatrice Adagala and the president’s private aide, Farouk Kibet with many echoing the deputy president’s sentiments on the unity of Kenyans.
