Vin Diesel Confirms 'Fast Forever' Saga Begins Filming This December!

Vin Diesel has officially announced that filming for "Fast Forever," the 11th and final mainline installment in the globally renowned "Fast & Furious" saga, is slated to commence in December. Diesel shared this significant update during the 25th-anniversary screening of the original "The Fast and the Furious" film, where he also delved into the arduous and extensive development process behind the concluding chapter's script.

According to Diesel, bringing the final script to fruition was a four-year endeavor, involving collaboration with four different sets of writers to ensure a worthy conclusion to the beloved franchise. He recounted a deeply personal and emotional experience upon reading the completed script just a couple of weeks prior to his announcement, confessing that it moved him to tears. Addressing the audience at the screening, Diesel elaborated on his emotional response, stating, "After I read the script, halfway through, one tear. By the end of the script that we crafted and worked so hard to make right for you after four years, I was crying. I couldn’t hold it back." He also light-heartedly mentioned his sister's advice to "No more crying, bro," while underscoring that even the toughest individuals are sometimes overcome with emotion.

"Fast Forever" is currently scheduled for release in theaters on March 17, 2028. The "Fast & Furious" series holds the distinction of being Universal's longest-running and most financially successful franchise, boasting a staggering combined worldwide gross of $7.3 billion. Interestingly, despite Vin Diesel's passionate endorsement of the latest script draft, director Louis Leterrier recently informed Polygon that he has yet to read the script. Leterrier expressed his appreciation for his involvement with the franchise and his positive working relationships with both Vin Diesel and Universal, stating, "There will be an ending, and it’s great. I was very, very lucky to be part of the franchise, and I love Vin and I love Universal. They’re great to work with. So yeah. We’ll see, hopefully.”
