Sister Sister Lands on Apple TV in Historic Global Release

Vietnamese psychological thriller Sister Sister is premiering across 36 international territories on Apple TV starting March 8, aligning with International Women’s Day. The rollout marks the broadest global distribution of a Vietnamese title on Apple TV in nearly a decade, signaling a major milestone for Vietnamese content.
The release spans markets in North America (including the U.S. and Canada), Europe (such as the U.K., Sweden, Belgium, and Poland), and Oceania (including Australia, Fiji, and Micronesia). Australia is the only territory where the film was previously available on the platform before this expansion.
The launch reflects an expanded partnership between Vietnamese sales agent Skyline Media and Apple TV, with additional titles expected to follow.
Skyline Media previously helped bring Vietnamese films to Netflix across Asia and global markets, boosting international visibility for local cinema.
Directed by Vietnamese-American filmmaker Kathy Uyen, Sister Sister stars supermodel-actress Thanh Hang, pop icon Chi Pu, and actor Lanh Thanh. The psychological thriller centers on a celebrity radio presenter who shelters a woman rescued from a violent assault, only to become embroiled in a tense battle of control and moral ambiguity.
Produced by Muse Films, Sister Sister became the second highest-grossing Vietnamese thriller of 2019, earning $2.7 million at the box office in Vietnam. The film screened at the Busan International Film Festival and won the ABC TV Award at the Osaka Asian Film Festival. Its 2023 sequel grossed more than $4.6 million domestically, helping establish the story as a thriving franchise.
Skyline Media represents more than 150 Vietnamese and Southeast Asian titles, distributing content in over 50 countries through more than 130 strategic partnerships, further solidifying Vietnam’s voice in global entertainment.
