More than 650,000 plastic water bottles produced by Valley Springs Artesian Gold, LLC, have been recalled across two states due to unsanitary bottling conditions. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) initially received the recall on February 6, with the official FDA classification as a Class II risk level occurring on February 26. This classification signifies that while the risk of severe health consequences is low, there is a possibility of temporary or reversible adverse health effects for consumers.
The comprehensive recall impacts a total of 651,148 water bottles. These products were distributed to consumers in Illinois and Wisconsin. The specific products included in this recall are: Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water (1 gallon, UPC: 0 31193-00701 9); Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water (2.5 gallons, UPC: 0 31193-01501 4); Infant Water (1 gallon, UPC: 0 31193-01401 7); Daisy's Doggy Water (1 gallon, UPC: 0 31193-90100 3); Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water, Fluoride Added (1 gallon, UPC: 0 31193-01301 0); and Valley Springs Steamed Distilled Water (1 gallon, UPC: 0 31193-00601 2).
Although the FDA did not issue explicit instructions beyond the Class II risk notification, the safest course of action for individuals who possess any of the recalled water bottles is to avoid consumption. Consumers are advised to either dispose of the affected products or return them to the place of purchase to ensure safety and compliance with the recall.
