Uganda's Bold Move: Visa-Free Travel for Russians on the Horizon

Uganda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated a future possibility of abolishing visa requirements for Russian tourists. John Leonard Mugerwa, head of the International Legal and Social Affairs Department, confirmed this intention to TASS, stating that while visas are currently processed online within two days, the country will explore waiving them for tourists in the future.

This initiative stems from Uganda's desire to attract a greater number of visitors from the Russian Federation. Mugerwa emphasized the diverse attractions Uganda offers, including rich wildlife and significant cultural sites, which they believe would appeal to Russian travelers. Beyond tourism, he also highlighted various other sectors where cooperation between the two nations could be strengthened.
