Twisted Sister Shocker: Sebastian Bach Joins for 50th Anniversary as Snider Steps Down!

Iconic hard rock band Twisted Sister has announced that their planned 50th anniversary shows will proceed, with legendary vocalist Sebastian Bach stepping in to handle lead vocals for a select number of dates this fall. This news comes a month after original frontman Dee Snider, 70, officially resigned from the group due to ongoing “health challenges.”
Twisted Sister guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda expressed their excitement, stating that Bach’s appearances will not conflict with his existing or future solo touring schedule. Bach himself reposted the announcement on his Instagram page, confirming his involvement. While the full roster of shows for the golden anniversary outing has not yet been revealed, a stop at the Alaska State Fair on September 4th has been confirmed.
Dee Snider’s departure was necessitated by a series of health issues, including degenerative arthritis, which has required multiple operations, and heart problems exacerbated by the demands of touring. These challenges previously led to the cancellation of shows scheduled for Sao Paulo, Brazil, on April 25th, and throughout the summer. At the time of Snider’s resignation, the band indicated that their touring future would be determined in the following weeks, leading to this current announcement.
Coincidentally, Bach’s former band, Skid Row, also announced a worldwide search for their next lead vocalist approximately a month prior. Bach fronted Skid Row from 1987 to 1996, after replacing original singer Matt Fallon. Since his departure, the band has seen a succession of vocalists, including Johnny Solinger and several short-term singers, with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale even performing with them in 2024.
Twisted Sister is widely recognized for their powerful 1984 anthem “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” which impressively reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. This hit song was featured on their third studio album, Stay Hungry, an album that peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. Fans were also invited to check out the announcement and listen to a snippet of Bach rehearsing “You Can’t Stop Rock n’ Roll” with the band.
