Trump Blasts Chalamet & Styles on SNL, Declaring Market's 'One Direction'!

Donald Trump made a notable appearance during the cold open of a recent “Saturday Night Live” episode, specifically the one aired on March 14. The segment unfolded with a family, portrayed by Mikey Day, Ashley Padilla, Marcello Hernández, and Sarah Sherman, navigating a road trip and grappling with the impact of rising gas prices. However, the scene was interrupted by James Austin Johnson, playing Donald Trump, who delivered a monologue addressing the week's events.
During his address, Johnson-as-Trump touched upon past campaign promises, including pledges for lower gas prices and an end to wars. He humorously redefined a promise as “just a lie that hasn’t happened yet” and quipped about current exorbitant gas prices, likening them to “a million billion dollars a gallon.” He also connected the stock market's trajectory to “One Direction” for the benefit of Harry Styles fans in the audience, referencing Styles, who was the host and musical guest for the episode.
The satirical monologue continued with Trump invoking Timothée Chalamet’s widely discussed comments about opera and ballet. He asserted that a war would be won because “Iran is old and nobody likes them,” comparing Iran to “ballet and opera” while positioning “us” as Timothée Chalamet. Later in the same segment, Colin Jost returned, portraying secretary of war Pete Hegseth. Jost's character comically responded with “I don’t know” when asked about plans for Iran and accused the media of being unpatriotic, suggesting they were manipulating his words to make him appear foolish.
