Tom Hardy's Shocking Exit: Star Fired From Paramount+'s Guy Ritchie Thriller!

Actor Tom Hardy will not be returning for a potential third season of the Paramount+ crime drama “Mobland,” Variety has confirmed with sources. Production for the second season of the series has already concluded, with filming wrapping in March. Reports indicate that Hardy was not requested to return for future seasons due to a series of onset issues with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and other members of the production team. While a third season has not yet been formally announced, the show’s significant success on the streaming platform makes its renewal highly anticipated.

Hardy portrays Harry Da Souza, a fixer within the show. “Mobland” launched on Paramount+ last spring and quickly ascended to become the second most-watched series on the platform, benefiting partly from Hardy’s stardom alongside other prominent cast members like Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. The series, created by Ronan Bennett, follows the Harrigan crime family, led by Conrad (Brosnan) and his wife Maeve (Mirren), with Paddy Considine playing their son, Kevin. Guy Ritchie also directed several episodes and is heavily involved in the creative direction of the series. Despite the casting changes, the second season, featuring Hardy, is expected to premiere before the end of the year.

The circumstances surrounding Hardy’s departure have not been officially detailed beyond mentions of “onset issues.” However, this is not the first instance of the actor reportedly clashing with colleagues on set. He previously had a notable falling out with co-star Charlize Theron during the production of “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Director George Miller later revealed that Hardy had to be “coaxed out of his trailer,” and a book about the film’s making, “Blood, Sweat, and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road” by Kyle Buchanan, described Hardy as being “aggressive” during filming. The fate of his character, Harry Da Souza, and how he will be written out of “Mobland” if the series continues beyond Season 2, remains to be seen.
