Taylor Swift Dominates UK Charts with Record-Breaking Album Sales!
Taylor Swift's “I Knew It, I Knew You” has achieved the biggest sales week of 2026 in the U.K., securing its second week at No. 1 and marking her seventh chart-topper. Olivia Rodrigo dominates the singles charts with three tracks in the top five, while the FIFA World Cup and Harry Styles' concerts also drive chart activity.
Taylor Swift has once again dominated the U.K. music charts, with her track “I Knew It, I Knew You” securing the biggest sales week of 2026 as it maintains its position at the summit for a second consecutive week, as of June 19. The song initially debuted at No. 1 on June 12, marking Swift’s seventh chart-topper on the Official Singles Chart. Following the release of limited-edition CD and vinyl editions, the song impressively surpassed its debut performance, achieving 71,000 chart units. This figure now stands as the largest sales week recorded in 2026, outperforming Harry Styles’ “Aperture,” which previously held the record with 70,000 units in January. The Official Charts Company has also reported that this marks the biggest week in pure sales, excluding streams, since November 2023, when The Beatles released their final song, “Now and Then.”
Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo has made a significant impact on the U.K.’s Official Singles Charts, occupying three of the top five positions, coinciding with her career-best opening week on the Albums Chart. Her new track “Stupid Song” debuted strongly at No. 2. Additionally, “The Cure” and “Drop Dead,” both highlights from “You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So in Love,” are positioned at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively. Notably, “Drop Dead” had previously reached No. 1 earlier this year, giving Rodrigo her fourth U.K. chart-topper.
Further down the charts, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s collaboration, “Rein Me In,” has slipped two places to No. 4, after an extended 13-week stay at the summit earlier in the year. The start of the FIFA World Cup has also influenced chart performance, with Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” making its first appearance in the top 40 at No. 28. Shakira’s enduring 2010 hit, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” has also seen a noticeable boost, rising to No. 35. Furthermore, Harry Styles’ 12-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium has positively impacted tracks from his "Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally" album, with “American Girls” climbing to No. 12 and “Aperture” reaching No. 25.
