Take That Shocks Fans with Epic 20th Anniversary Tour Announcement, Hampden Park Secured!

Legendary 90s boyband Take That has officially announced a major UK and Ireland stadium tour for 2026, titled 'The Circus Live', confirming weeks of cryptic hints and fan speculation. The announcement, made on Friday morning, comes as a celebration of the 20th anniversary revival of 'The Circus' tour, which originally followed their critically acclaimed album of the same name released in 2006.
The build-up to the official news had fans in a frenzy. On Thursday night, massive projections of the iconic Take That logo, accompanied by an elephant motif referencing their original 'Circus Tour', illuminated prominent venues such as Glasgow's Hampden Park, Manchester's Etihad Stadium, Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Sunderland's Stadium of Light, and St Mary's Stadium in Southampton. This visual spectacle followed a series of mysterious clips shared on the group’s official Instagram page throughout the week, featuring Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald in clown-style makeup and riding a unicycle, directly nodding to their 2009 'Circus' tour – their biggest live event to date, which captivated over a million fans across the UK.
Further intensifying anticipation, the trio shared an email on social media revealing they were back in the studio working on new music and discussing upcoming shows. A countdown timer appeared on their official website, meticulously tracking the time until Friday, September 19, when the much-awaited announcement was finally made.
Posting on their Instagram, Take That expressed their excitement: "We’re so excited to be bringing back The Circus Live in 2026! Next summer, in stadiums across the UK & Ireland, we’ll celebrate people, music, and the wonder of human creativity. We can’t wait to take you back to that magical place - the same iconic set awaits, along with some new surprises..." The tour will feature support from The Script and Belinda Carlisle across all UK dates, with a confirmed performance at Glasgow's Hampden Park stadium on Friday, June 12, 2026.
Tickets for 'The Circus Live' will go on general sale from Friday, September 26, at 9:30 am. Fans eager for early access can secure pre-sale tickets by pre-ordering the group's 10th studio album from the official UK store before 5 pm on Tuesday, September 23. The band emphasized the significance of the upcoming year, adding, "2026 is going to be a special year in many ways - we can’t wait to have you there with us."
While the focus remains on the current trio, some fans had expressed hopes for the return of former bandmates Jason Orange and Robbie Williams. Robbie Williams famously departed Take That in July 1995, leading to the group's initial disbandment in February 1996 after completing the 'Nobody Else' world tour. Despite such fan desires, the upcoming tour will feature the established lineup of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald, ready to deliver another spectacular 'Circus' experience.
