Shocking Crime: Two Men Admit Sexual Offences in Manchester City Centre
Two Romanian nationals, Mario-Vifor Ratoiu and Mario-Alexandru Ratoiu, have admitted to sexual offenses involving a 14-year-old girl in a Manchester city centre flat. Mario-Vifor Ratoiu pleaded guilty to rape, while Mario-Alexandru Ratoiu admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a child. Both men are awaiting sentencing in December after entering guilty pleas.
Two men have admitted to sexual offenses following an incident involving a 14-year-old girl in a flat located in Manchester city centre's Green Quarter area, which came to light after a police report in April. The defendants, identified as Mario-Vifor Ratoiu, 23, and Mario-Alexandru Ratoiu, 26, both Romanian nationals with no fixed address, entered their guilty pleas ahead of a trial that was scheduled to commence today, October 6.
During proceedings at Manchester Crown Court, Mario-Vifor Ratoiu unequivocally admitted to the charge of raping the teenage girl. His co-defendant, Mario-Alexandru Ratoiu, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity with a child. Prosecutors informed the court that the plea to the less serious charge from Mario-Alexandru Ratoiu was deemed acceptable, a significant development following his initial charge of rape.
Both individuals were arrested subsequent to the initial report and have remained in custody since. Their sentencing has been set for December 3 at the same court. Presiding over the case, Judge Sarah Johnston addressed the defendants, stating, "Sentencing in your case will take place on December 3 this year. I'm ordering pre-sentence reports to be prepared in each of your cases. You are therefore required to co-operate with the probation service to ensure I have all relevant information about you before I determine the appropriate sentence in your case." The full circumstances and details surrounding the case have not yet been publicly outlined in open court.
