Dorota Jagielska, a 41-year-old resident of Striding Edge Walk, has been charged in connection with the incident. The charges against her include causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, as well as failing in her duty as a person responsible for animals to ensure their welfare. These serious allegations underscore the legal obligations individuals have regarding the care and treatment of animals under their supervision.
Jagielska is scheduled to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court on October 6 to face these charges. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed the developments, stating that the charges were brought under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, following an extensive investigation that led to the retrieval of the numerous dogs from the Oldham address.
