Sharon Osbourne's Emotional Anniversary: 'Forever My Heart' Without Ozzy

Sharon Osbourne recently marked what would have been her 46th wedding anniversary with the late rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne, sharing a heartfelt tribute on Instagram on Friday (July 4). Alongside a poignant close-up photo of the couple holding hands, Sharon expressed her enduring love, writing: “Today would have been our 46th wedding anniversary. Instead, it is a celebration of a love that even death could not diminish. I miss your hand in mine, but I carry your love with me every step of the way. Forever my husband. Forever my heart.”

Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, after a public and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. His death occurred just 17 days after he headlined a monumental farewell concert titled “Back to the Beginning,” which saw him perform with Black Sabbath at Villa Park in his hometown of Birmingham.

The couple’s journey began when they married in Hawaii on July 4, 1982. They remained together for 43 years until his passing, navigating numerous well-documented highs and lows, including a brief separation in 2016. Demonstrating their commitment, they renewed their vows in 2017 and together raised three children: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.

Ozzy’s passing triggered a significant and immediate posthumous surge on the Billboard charts, underscoring his lasting musical influence. His signature 1980 solo track, “Crazy Train,” from the album Blizzard of Ozz, made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in its history, landing at No. 46 with an impressive 9.2 million streams in the tracking week ending July 24, 2025. Another beloved track, “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” re-entered the Hot 100 at No. 49, marking its first appearance on the chart in 33 years.

The compilation album The Essential Ozzy Osbourne also saw remarkable success, surging to No. 7 on the Billboard 200—a new peak from its original No. 81. It simultaneously claimed the No. 1 spot on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Hard Rock Albums charts. Furthermore, the top seven positions on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart were entirely dominated by tracks from Osbourne and Black Sabbath, highlighting his unparalleled impact in the genre.

Throughout a career spanning more than five decades, both as the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath and as a successful solo artist, Ozzy Osbourne sold over 100 million albums worldwide. He achieved nine solo top 10 entries on the Billboard 200, securing at least one in every decade from the 1980s through the 2020s. His notable Hot 100 hits include “Close My Eyes Forever” with Lita Ford (No. 8, 1989) and “Take What You Want” with Post Malone and Travis Scott (No. 8, 2019). Black Sabbath’s reunion album, 13, also garnered significant acclaim, giving the band their first-ever Billboard 200 No. 1 in 2013.
