Shakira Makes Historic Return: First Egypt Concert in 20 Years at the Pyramids!
Shakira is set to make a historic return to the Great Pyramids of Giza in November, nearly two decades after her last performance there. This highly anticipated concert follows her participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony and precedes her headlining performance at the first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show in July.
Nearly two decades after her inaugural performance, global superstar Shakira is poised for a grand return to the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. The "Dai Dai" singer is scheduled to perform on November 28, with the concert presented by Venture Lifestyle, an organization known for staging similar high-profile events at the iconic archaeological site with artists like JLo, John Legend, and Katy Perry.
This upcoming performance marks a significant return for Shakira, who previously captivated audiences in front of the Pyramids – the sole surviving structure of the ancient world's Seven Wonders – during her 2007 Oral Fixation tour. Tickets for the highly anticipated November show are now available. Expressing her enthusiasm, Shakira stated, "I’m very happy to be performing in Egypt, at the Pyramids of Giza. I love you all."
The Pyramids concert, which forms part of her ongoing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, was initially slated for April 7 but was rescheduled to November due to what promoters cited as "the situation in the region," following the U.S. and Israel’s conflict with Iran.
Before her Egyptian return, Shakira is also set to make history by performing at the first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show on July 19. This monumental event will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin, the halftime show will boast an impressive lineup featuring Madonna, Justin Bieber, BTS, Burna Boy, and Gustavo Dudamel. Shakira excitedly shared in a recent interview, "It’s going to be a shared halftime show… it’s going to be pretty historic, five amazing artists, well four amazing artists plus me."
Shakira's involvement with the FIFA World Cup extends beyond the upcoming final. She previously contributed to the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup just last month, performing at the ceremony in Mexico City's iconic Azteca Stadium alongside Burna Boy and J Balvin. During this event, she performed her official 2026 World Cup anthem, "Dai Dai." All profits generated from this anthem will be dedicated to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, with $500,000 from the fund specifically allocated to support educational interventions for children gravely affected by the recent devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.
In addition to these major events, Shakira was recently spotted attending the France vs. Morocco World Cup quarterfinal game on Thursday, July 9, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Her current tour schedule also includes upcoming performances at TD Garden in Boston on Friday, July 10, and Saturday night, July 11.
