Collider had the opportunity to speak up about the new faces and familiar favorites of the show to get their take on some of Season 2’s most unforgettable moments, starting with the premiere episodes featuring Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty.

Woodley, stepping into the spotlight as Annie, the character at the heart of the season opener, revealed she felt surprisingly at ease despite the weight of the role.

After being casted, she dove headfirst into understanding Annie and her bonds with Link, her dynamics with Sterling.

She also found herself crafting “something so wildly different” from Season 1, describing the episode almost like a “short film in and of itself.”

Annie and Link’s whirlwind romance may have been brief, but it burned with intensity.

Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty reflected on whether their connection was fate or simply a product of circumstance, and both leaned toward destiny.

He pointed out that after three years on the run, both characters had built walls around their hearts, guarding themselves from pain and losing touch with their humanity.

“Life is long… until it’s not, and what we do with that time is a choice we make every single day.”

Regarding Thomas Doherty's character, Link, many questions remain, including mysterious flashbacks and Xavier's inexplicable recognition of him.
