Season Over: Nottingham Forest Star Callum Hudson-Odoi Suffers Devastating Injury
Nottingham Forest Winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to miss the remainder of the current season following successful surgery on his right quadriceps muscle.
The 25-year-old English player underwent the procedure on Tuesday and is anticipated to make a full return to training during the upcoming preseason period.
This significant injury comes at a crucial time for the Premier League club, which is currently fighting to avoid relegation and has reached the Europa League semifinals.
Hudson-Odoi sustained the injury during Forest's Europa League quarterfinal match against Porto last Thursday.
He had been introduced as a halftime substitute but was forced to leave the pitch in the 72nd minute.
The talented winger, who has contributed six goals across all competitions this season, subsequently missed Forest's vital top-flight victory at home against Burnley on Sunday.
His absence will now extend to all of the team's remaining domestic and continental fixtures.
Nottingham Forest finds itself five points clear of the Premier League's relegation zone with only five games left in the season, making every match critical.
Furthermore, the team is preparing to face Aston Villa in the Europa League semifinals, a major achievement that will now proceed without one of their key attacking players.
Hudson-Odoi took to social media to confirm the success of his surgery, expressing optimism about his recovery:
"I'll be back stronger and better than before."
The former Chelsea player has earned three caps for England, demonstrating his potential on the international stage.
He has also reportedly been a target for Ghana, which has made efforts to persuade him to switch his international allegiance.
This report includes information sourced from The Associated Press and PA, providing a comprehensive overview of the situation surrounding the player and his club.
