After a closely watched contest, Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru emerged victorious, prompting a flood of congratulatory messages and critical observations regarding the electoral process.
Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru secured a resounding win, garnering 35,440 votes. He decisively defeated the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate, Samuel Muchina Nyagah, who received 5,450 votes. Other candidates included Jubilee Party's Wilson Kigwa with 198 votes, Stephen Waithaka of the National Liberal Party with 103 votes, and Timothy Kariuki of the People's Renaissance Movement with 51 votes. Edwin Muchiri (Party of National Unity), Abdifatah Abdullahi (Federal Party of Kenya), Edward Mwaniki (Kenya Moja Movement), and Rachael Njoroge (People's Democratic Party) also contested, receiving 28, 19, 16, and 11 votes respectively.
