Queen Bey Unleashes 'Morning Dew' Remix Pack with JAŸ-Z!
Beyoncé has dropped a surprise 'Morning Dew (Donk)' Remix Pack, featuring husband Jay-Z on two tracks. This release follows the original's chart success and sets the stage for its inclusion on the 20th-anniversary deluxe edition of her acclaimed album, *B'Day*.
Music icon Beyoncé has once again captivated fans with a surprise release, unveiling the "Morning Dew (Donk)" Remix Pack just weeks after the original track's debut. The four-pack EP, which dropped in the early hours of Wednesday, August 5, was announced to the Beyhive through a social media post from Parkwood Entertainment, continuing Beyoncé's tradition of unexpected musical gifts.
A highlight of the new Remix Pack is the significant involvement of hip-hop superstar Jay-Z, Beyoncé's husband, who is featured on two of the four cuts, notably listed as JAŸ-Z. Jay-Z contributes a fresh, distinctive rhyme to one of the tracks, delivering lines such as, "Top of the top, sloppy as a morning dew / the watch is vintage, I don’t need nothing new / coming through Malibu in the old school." His vocals also grace an "acoustic" version within the EP, adding another dimension to the remix collection.
The original "Morning Dew (Donk)" track itself has a fascinating history. Written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, it was officially announced by Beyoncé during the 4th of July weekend, marking the closure of a chapter involving various leaked demos over recent years. The song quickly made its mark on the charts, bowing at No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart on July 18, marking Beyoncé's first return to the top 10 in three years. Furthermore, "Morning Dew" debuted at No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs and secured the No. 26 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her impressive 61st top 40 title. The track was reportedly recorded around 2013 during the *Beyoncé* album era, with a snippet first leaking in 2021 before a fuller version surfaced online two years later, even sparking TikTok trends.
Adding to its significance, "Morning Dew" is slated to appear on a special 20th-anniversary deluxe edition of Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed sophomore album, *B’Day*. Originally released in September 2006, *B’Day* debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned multiple smash hits. These included the 2007 year-end Hot 100 No. 1 single "Irreplaceable," as well as other chart-toppers like "Beautiful Liar" with Shakira (No. 3), "Deja Vu" featuring Jay-Z (No. 4), and "Ring the Alarm" (No. 11). The inclusion of "Morning Dew" on this deluxe edition offers fans a fresh look at a previously unreleased gem from that iconic period of her career.
