Pop Princess Britney Spears Seeks Treatment, Rep Confirms

Britney Spears has entered a treatment facility following her DUI arrest last month.
A rep for the pop star confirmed to PEOPLE on Sunday, April 12, that Spears, 44, voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility.
Spears was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI) in Ventura, Calif., on March 4.
She was released the next day, and a rep for the singer told PEOPLE in a statement that the "unfortunate incident" was "completely inexcusable."
This move comes shortly after a significant incident in the pop star's life: a DUI arrest on March 4 in Ventura County, California.
Spears was booked by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and subsequently released from custody the following morning, March 5.
In the aftermath of the arrest, Spears' representative issued a statement to Billboard, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.
"This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable," her rep stated.
The statement further indicated a commitment to positive change, saying, "Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."
The representative also confirmed that her sons would be spending time with her, and her loved ones were working on a "long overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being."
Despite the challenging period, Spears made a return to Instagram on March 27, sharing a dance clip alongside her 19-year-old son, Jayden Federline.
In the post, she expressed gratitude to her fans, writing, "Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing. Stay kind !!!"
More recently, amid other dance videos, Spears shared a still snapshot of herself on Instagram with a poignant caption:
"When peeps try to make you larger than life… tell them to BOW if I ever showed them the fragility of my real heart."
