Phil Foden Secures Jaw-Dropping Manchester City Extension Until 2030
Phil Foden has committed his future to Manchester City by signing a new four-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2030. Despite a challenging last season, the England midfielder is set to play a key role under new head coach Enzo Maresca, aiming for renewed success with the club.
England midfielder Phil Foden has officially ended speculation regarding his future by signing a new four-year contract with Manchester City. This agreement extends his commitment to the club until the summer of 2030, reinforcing City’s long-term belief in one of their most accomplished academy products. Foden, who is 26 years old, initially made his first-team debut at the age of 17 under then-manager Pep Guardiola, and has since grown into one of the club's most decorated players.
Throughout his career with Manchester City, Foden has made an impressive 369 appearances, contributing significantly to a period of immense success for the club. His honours include six Premier League titles, the prestigious UEFA Champions League, and two FA Cups, alongside numerous other accolades. However, the most recent season proved to be a more challenging period for the midfielder, as he started only 23 Premier League matches and was subsequently omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite these recent setbacks, Foden has unequivocally reaffirmed his dedication to Manchester City. He is widely expected to assume a central role under the club’s new head coach, Enzo Maresca. Foden revealed that Maresca's prior experience as Guardiola's assistant during City's historic Treble-winning campaign in the 2022-23 season was a significant factor in his decision to extend his stay. With his long-term future now secured, Phil Foden will be focused on regaining his peak form as Manchester City embarks on a new era under Maresca, with ambitions set on competing for both domestic and European honours.
