Nigerian Pastor Chris Okafor's Apology Fails to Quell Divorce Storm as Ex-Wife, Actress React

The recent controversy surrounding Pastor Chris has escalated with two significant statements from Doris and Bessem, both levelling serious accusations and questioning his integrity. Doris, speaking emotionally, addressed the public's calls for her to forgive, deeming them hypocritical. She affirmed personal forgiveness of “the mortal Doris” but expressed strong doubts about the sincerity and sufficiency of Pastor Chris’s apology, believing it was more about “damage control” than genuine repentance and that God had not accepted it.

Doris further alleged the existence of deeper issues within the church, claiming many members are under “bondage” and “hypnosis,” blinded to wrongdoing and applauding concerning actions. She challenged Pastor Chris to involve the police if his allegations of lies were true, stating her readiness to present evidence in a legal context, clarifying that her actions were not for attention. Doris maintained that recent developments and people speaking out indicate the situation is unfolding beyond her control, interpreting it as God intentionally exposing issues, with further revelations expected. She concluded by seeing herself as a vessel, believing what comes next will surprise many, despite her personal forgiveness.

Adding to the unfolding narrative, Bessem, identifying herself as the woman who legally and traditionally married Chris Okafor at the age of 18, detailed their union which produced four children. She firmly refuted claims of being a “side partner,” asserting that witnesses to their wedding are still alive. Bessem explained her decision to leave the marriage after 14 years of silence, citing an inability to cope with his alleged “lifestyle and conduct” which she claimed brought shame to the church. Her decision to speak now was prompted by what she described as “lies and half-truths” in his recent statements.

She accused the pastor of repeatedly fabricating his past, including denying a previous marriage despite her discovery of evidence, which left her feeling deceived and vulnerable. Furthermore, Bessem made grave allegations of enduring abuse and assault throughout their marriage, claiming to possess medical reports as proof. She recounted physically escaping their home through a back gate on the day she finally departed. Bessem also made serious allegations of infidelity, claiming Okafor impregnated multiple women, some of whom were church members, during their marriage. She alleged that following her departure, one of the identified women moved into the house and assumed care for their children.
