Nigeria's 'Concert for Change' Delivers N55M to Charities,
Concert for Change, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting orphans and children living with disabilities, has disbursed N55 million to five beneficiary organizations across Nigeria following the success of its annual Green Worship 8 Benefit Concert.
The announcement was made in Lagos, marking a significant milestone in the group’s ongoing mission to provide sustainable assistance to vulnerable children.
This year’s N55 million allocation represents a 49.66 percent increase from the N36.75 million distributed last year, an additional N18.25 million that underscores growing donor confidence and support.
The near 50 percent year-on-year growth reflects both heightened awareness and expanded engagement around the organization’s cause.
The five beneficiary organizations are:
Comrade David Ofoeyeno School for Special Children in Warri
Marvelous Foundation Orphans Care Centre in Minna
Super Parent Foundation in Lagos
Hope Orphanage in Akure
Learning Disabilities Society of Nigeria in Uyo
Each received an equal share of N11 million. The funds are designated for infrastructure upgrades, specialized equipment, therapy services, educational materials, and other critical interventions aimed at improving the quality of care and long-term outcomes for children.
Strengthening Impact Through Accountability and Growth
Wale Adenuga, Managing Trustee of Concert for Change, described the increase as more than a financial benchmark, calling it evidence that “compassion is still alive.”
He emphasized the organization’s commitment to transparency, measurable impact, and strong partnerships with credible charities.
The Green Worship 8 Benefit Concert, which mobilizes individuals, partners, and communities annually, remains central to raising both awareness and sustainable funding for frontline child-focused initiatives.
Formerly known as Worship for Change, the organization has raised over N200 million since its inception, supporting 49 charities and impacting thousands of children nationwide.
Adenuga noted that strengthened accountability systems and milestone-based disbursement processes have been implemented to ensure responsible stewardship of funds.
Through sustained donor engagement and rigorous oversight, Concert for Change continues to expand its reach while alleviating the burdens faced by charitable institutions serving Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations.
