Mum's 'Diabetes-Inducing' Grocery Haul Shocks Internet!

A North Carolina mother-of-three, known on TikTok as @boymomx3_b, recently garnered significant attention and widespread criticism after sharing a video showcasing her extensive grocery haul. The 37-year-old, who works full-time, explained that the substantial amount of food was intended to feed her three sons, as well as her parents who had recently moved in with her. To acquire all the provisions, she reportedly visited four different stores, accumulating a grand total bill of $476.68 for the shopping trip.
The now-viral video, which has racked up over 5 million views, highlighted a mega pile of food that primarily consisted of processed and sugary items. Among the most highlighted purchases were a staggering 32 frozen pizzas, which almost towered over her in the clip, and a whopping 14 blocks of various cheeses. Her shopping cart also contained five big bags of frozen fries, nine large bottles of sugary fizzy drinks, two big jars of mayonnaise, two large boxes of mini brownies, a huge pack of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, a big box of Oatmeal Cream Pies, several packs of Oreos, more sugary cereal, and cereal bars, alongside some tea.
In stark contrast to the vast quantities of processed goods, the fresh produce section of her haul was notably sparse. It included only two cucumbers, one head of lettuce, a bunch of grapes, some bananas, and a single huge watermelon. The mother herself stated, "We took all they had," referring to clearing the frozen pizza aisle, and also commented on the high cost of groceries in her caption, "Why do groceries have to cost so much."
The online community's reaction was swift and overwhelmingly negative, with viewers left "gobsmacked" not by the price, but by what many described as a "diabetes-inducing" diet. Critics pointed out the severe imbalance between the fresh and processed foods, with comments such as "NINEEEE bottles of soda THIRTY TWOO pizzas and like two cucumbers is wild" and "You bought more bottles of dr pepper than you did vegetables." Other users expressed serious health concerns, writing, "Diabetes is around the corner," and "i cannot imagine living like this."
Despite the torrent of negative comments and health concerns raised by the online community regarding her family's diet choices, the mother-of-three remained unphased. Her simple and direct response to her critics was, "Don’t watch then," dismissing the strong reactions to her controversial grocery haul.
