Mounjaro Users Rejoice: Doctor’s Simple Hack for a Guilt-Free Christmas Feast

The holiday season often comes with anxiety for those managing weight, particularly for individuals using Mounjaro. Fears of overindulgence and disrupted progress can dampen festive cheer, but experts from digital healthcare provider ZAVA recommend a simple, effective strategy to enjoy Christmas Day meals without guilt or discomfort.
Dr. Crystal Wyllie of ZAVA suggests adopting a 16/8 intermittent fasting window before the main Christmas meal. This approach involves fasting for 16 hours and eating within an eight-hour window. For example, if Christmas lunch is at 12 pm, one would finish dinner by 8 pm the previous evening, allowing for an early Christmas Eve meal and skipping late-night snacks. For later lunches, adjustments can be made: finish eating by 9 pm for a 1 pm lunch or 10 pm for a 2 pm lunch.
Importantly, Dr. Wyllie stresses that fasting should never feel punitive. Those experiencing low energy or dizziness can opt for shorter fasting windows, such as 14/10 or even 12/12, and include a light breakfast like bread or yogurt. This strategy helps manage caloric intake while still permitting enjoyment of festive favorites.
In addition, pairing intermittent fasting with mindful eating can enhance the holiday experience. Dr. Wyllie advises savoring each bite, focusing on textures and flavors, and listening to your body’s hunger cues. Combined with Mounjaro, this method supports satiety and reduces the likelihood of post-meal discomfort.
By integrating these adjustments, Mounjaro users can fully enjoy holiday feasts while staying on track with their wellness goals—turning Christmas indulgence into a joyful, stress-free experience.
