Mind-Blowing Speed: 2026 Corvette ZR1X Shatters 0-60 Record

The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X has achieved astonishing acceleration figures, setting new benchmarks for performance. On a prepped surface, utilizing standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, default aero configuration, street-legal engine calibration, optional carbon-fiber wheels, and 93-octane pump gas, this all-wheel-drive hybrid supercar recorded a 0-60 mph time of an incredible 1.68 seconds. This feat was accomplished with less than 100 feet of acceleration distance and produced a peak accelerative force of 1.75 g.

Furthermore, in the same run, the ZR1X completed the quarter-mile in a blistering 8.675 seconds at a trap speed of 159 mph. Chevrolet provided an official track slip from US 131 Motorsports Park to substantiate these claims, with Corvette development engineer and test driver Stefan Frick performing the runs in October using the C8’s custom launch control. Multiple back-to-back quarter-mile runs were consistently completed in under 8.8 seconds.

The ZR1X's performance places it in an elite category, drawing comparisons to hypercars costing millions more. While noting that the ZR1X's times were achieved on a prepped surface, Chevrolet highlighted its competitive standing against vehicles like the Rimac Nevera R (1.66 seconds 0-60, 7.90 seconds quarter-mile) and the Pininfarina Battista (1.79 seconds 0-60, 8.55 seconds quarter-mile). Other high-performance contenders mentioned include the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, Bugatti Tourbillon, and the Lucid Air Sapphire, further emphasizing the ZR1X's remarkable capabilities at its $209,700 starting MSRP.

Even when tested on an unprepped surface and equipped with the optional ZTK Performance Package, the ZR1X continued to impress, posting a 0-60 mph time of 1.89 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 8.99 seconds, demonstrating its versatility and consistent high performance under varying conditions.
