Personal items from the estate of late Friends Star Matthew Perry will head to auction next month in partnership with his non-profit foundation, Variety reports.
The charity auction begins June 5 and aims to reduce the stigma around addiction, and Heritage Auctions will host the event online and in person in Dallas.
The collection includes 26 scripts for Friends episodes such as The One With Ross’s Tan and the two-part series finale.
Additionally, two scripts signed by Perry and co-starsJennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer were donated by Warner Bros.
A photo album titled The One With the Last Supper also features a letter from “Jenny” in the back.
Meanwhile, Perry’s replica of the yellow peephole frame from Monica’s apartment is also available.
The auction will donate net proceeds to advance Perry’s legacy in addiction recovery and treatment access.
Furthermore, additional beneficiaries include the Matthew Perry Foundation Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Healing Appalachia, a recovery-focused sober music festival, and grassroots recovery grants for frontline organizations will also benefit.
Beyond the memorabilia, Perry’s 1995 SAG Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a television comedy series is up for purchase.
A personal collection of artwork from artists such as Banksy and Mel Bochner further rounds out the offerings, and Perry died on Oct. 28, 2023, from the effects of ketamine use.
Proxy bidding opened Tuesday, and interested parties can preview items at Heritage Auctions’ Beverly Hills showroom from May 18 to 29.
“Matthew believed addiction should be met with compassion and science, not stigma and silence,” said Lisa Kasteler Calio, CEO of the Matthew Perry Foundation. “This auction fuels the foundation’s work to expand access to evidence-based care and confront stigma.”
