But while fans seem excited, critics are more divided, and the movie received a 44% ‘Rotten’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, lower than the original’s 59%.

Yet audiences are loving it, giving it a 95% ‘hot’ rating on Popcornmeter.

It looks like Mario is ready to take us on another wild adventure—this time, the fans are clearly on his side.

Ross Bonaime of Collider gave the film a solid 7/10, praising fresh faces like Yoshi (Donald Glover) and Rosalina (Brie Larson), though he felt the story was a bit thin.

Critics’ lukewarm reviews probably won’t hurt the box office much, after all, the first film wasn’t a critics’ darling either. What really counts is how audiences respond once the movie hits theaters.

Nintendo’s beloved plumber is back in action! ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ features Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Charlie Day, Jack Black, and Glen Powell.

It was announced on MAR10 Day 2024, this 98-minute, PG-rated adventure is directed by Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic, Pierre Leduc, and Fabien Polack, with Matthew Fogel writing and Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto producing. Get ready for a galaxy-sized ride!
