Pop icon Madonna has once again achieved a significant milestone on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, securing her 13th No. 1 album with “Confessions II”. This latest triumph marks a sequel to her highly successful 2005 release, “Confessions on a Dancefloor,” and represents Madonna's first time at the top spot since her 2012 album, “MDNA”. This achievement further solidifies her position as one of the most successful artists in the chart’s history, extending her impressive reign.
With 13 No. 1 albums, Madonna now joins an exclusive group of artists who have reached the Official U.K. Albums Chart summit 13 or more times. This prestigious list includes legends such as Robbie Williams (16 No. 1s), The Beatles (15 No. 1s), Taylor Swift (14 No. 1s), The Rolling Stones (14 No. 1s), and Elvis Presley (13 No. 1s), placing her among music's most enduring and impactful figures.
Beyond Madonna's dominant performance, the chart also saw other notable entries. Sienna Spiro's debut album, “The Visitor,” landed at No. 2, marking the biggest debut album of the year by a British act. Tom March, Capitol Music Group chairman & CEO, praised Spiro’s accomplishments, stating that her success speaks to her undeniable talent, exceptional artistry, and genuine authenticity, which have resonated deeply with fans globally.
Further down the chart, Olivia Rodrigo's “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” claimed the No. 3 spot. Michael Jackson's enduring compilation, “The Essential,” was at No. 4, followed by Olivia Dean’s “The Art of Loving” at No. 5. Following their respective London performances, BTS' “ARIRANG” saw a significant leap of 16 spots to No. 21, while My Chemical Romance's classic album, “The Black Parade,” re-entered the top 40 for the first time since 2007, climbing to No. 27.
