Liam Gallagher's Triumphant 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Liam Gallagher, the infamously acerbic singer of Oasis, has responded in his characteristic humorous style to the news of his band's induction into the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class. This marks a notable shift from his previous stance, having called the HOF a “load of bollocks” and “full of BUMBACLARTS” after Oasis's initial nominations in 2024 and 2025.
On Tuesday morning, April 14, following the announcement, Gallagher took to social media with a surprisingly amiable tone. He tweeted, “I wanna thank all the people who voted for us it’s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I’d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it’s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream.” While the sentiment appeared heartfelt, his subsequent remarks confirmed a healthy dose of his trademark wit and sarcasm.
When challenged by a fan about his sudden change of heart, asking “what happened to not wanting to be in it hmmmmmm,” Gallagher offered an amusing explanation. He revealed, “Well I was speaking to my mummy last night when the news broke and she thinks I may have been a little hasty with my perception of the organization she’s told me to stop being a dick and go to the awards and behave and you never know you might enjoy it.” Earlier, he had playfully hinted at “reverse psychology vibes” regarding Oasis's entry into the Rock Hall, jokingly referring to them as “farmers” before correcting to “famers.”
Further inquiries from fans regarding his acceptance speech prompted more comedic replies. Gallagher stated, “Well I’ll obv bring a box of chocolates and flowers and apologize to the organizers for my ignorance.” He also enthusiastically confirmed his attendance at the ceremony, exclaiming, “Too f–king rite I am.” In a surprising development, he added that both he and his older brother, Noel Gallagher, would be present, declaring, “we’re goth going we’re sooooooo proud and humble.” The induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on ABC and Disney+ in December.
Oasis, fresh off a triumphant 2025 reunion tour, will be inducted alongside a prestigious class of artists including Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan.
