Latin King Maluma Conquers Airwaves with Record 25th No. 1!

Maluma has ignited the Latin music scene with “Bronceador,” securing his first No. 1 of the year on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. The track impressively ascended from No. 5 to the top spot on the chart dated October 4, driven by a substantial 44% surge in audience impressions, reaching 9.9 million across various Latin radio stations in the United States during the tracking week that concluded on September 25, as reported by Luminate.
Celebrating this significant milestone, Maluma shared his excitement with Billboard, stating, “I’m so happy and grateful for my fans and everyone at radio who have helped make ‘Bronceador’ a success. Reaching my 25th Billboard Latin Airplay No. 1 is a dream come true and motivates me to keep making music from the heart.” This achievement marks his 25th career No. 1 on the esteemed chart. Prior to “Bronceador,” his last chart-topper was nearly two years ago with “Según Quién,” a collaboration with Carín León, which reigned for four weeks starting in December 2023. His most recent solo No. 1 was “Coco Loco,” which led for a week in October 2023.
“Bronceador,” released under PARIS LG/Sony Music Latin, has demonstrated its strong performance beyond the main Latin Airplay chart. It also holds the top position for a second consecutive week on Latin Pop Airplay. Furthermore, the track garnered significant momentum on Latin Rhythm Airplay, climbing to No. 1 from No. 2, marking Maluma’s first leader on that specific list since October 2023.
With his career count now at 25 No. 1 hits, Maluma solidifies his position among the most dominant artists on the Latin Airplay chart since its inception in 1994. He joins an elite group, following legends such as J Balvin (38 No. 1s), Ozuna (35), Enrique Iglesias (32), Bad Bunny (29), Daddy Yankee (28), and standing ahead of Shakira (24).
Elsewhere across the Latin charts, Oscar Ortiz and Carín León have also made a significant impact, claiming the top spot on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart with their collaboration, “Y Si Te Vas.” The song climbed 2-1, earning “Greatest Gainer” honors, powered by a notable 24% growth in audience impressions across regional Mexican radio stations in the United States during the week ending September 25, according to Luminate.
Individually, this marks Oscar Ortiz’s second No. 1, and his first chart-topper in over a year. For Carín León, “Y Si Te Vas” is his 11th No. 1 hit. Remarkably, León now holds the distinction of having the most No. 1s of 2025, with five. Furthermore, with all 11 of his No. 1s achieved within the 2020s, León has broken his tie with Christian Nodal for the second-most No. 1s this decade among solo artists, though both still trail Alejandro Fernandez, who boasts 14 leaders in the 2020s. Reflecting on their collaboration, León expressed his appreciation on Ortiz’s Instagram account in July, writing, “Thanks for bringing me on board this song, carnalito (or brother), I really like it, hug!”
