IGP Egbetokun Appoints CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as New Police Spokesman

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, also identified as Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has officially approved the appointment of CSPBenjamin Hundeyinas the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). This significant announcement was made on Thursday by the outgoing FPRO, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has since completed the handover of duties to Hundeyin. Adejobi, following this change, has been redeployed to assume leadership of the Department of Operations in the Delta State Command.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin is well-prepared for his new role, possessing a rich blend of academic and professional experience. His educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in English Language from Lagos State University, which underpins his strong communication skills. Further enhancing his expertise, he holds a Master of Science degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. Additionally, Hundeyin’s specialized training is highlighted by a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination, which he earned from the prestigious Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre located in Jaji, Kaduna State.

Hundeyin is recognized as an accomplished public relations professional, a standing reinforced by his active affiliations with several esteemed professional organizations. He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR),a Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM). These memberships underscore his dedication to upholding professional standards and ethical practices in both public relations and personnel management.
Prior to this elevated appointment, CSP Hundeyin's career within the police force was marked by diverse and critical roles in public relations and administration. He notably served as the Police Public Relations Officer at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos. His international exposure includes participation in the Nigerian contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID), in 2020, where he gained experience in complex global security environments.

He also served as an Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Immediately before becoming the FPRO, he held the key position of Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, a role his predecessor also held before ascending to Force PRO, according to the provided information.
