Horrific Confession! Ondo Pastor Remanded For Years-Long Abuse of Daughter

A Magistrate Court in Akure, Ondo State, has ordered the remand of 42-year-old pastor Samson Ajayi in the Olokuta Correctional Centre for allegedly raping his 17-year-old biological daughter for over four years. Ajayi, a father of five, was arrested last week after his wife reported the abuse to the police in Igoba, Akure North Local Government Area, where the incident occurred at their residence.
The prosecutor, Supol Martins Olowofeso, informed the court that Ajayi sexually molested his daughter between July 2021 and August 2025. The victim's mother reportedly discovered the abuse after returning home to find her matrimonial bed scattered. Following much persuasion, the daughter disclosed the prolonged abuse to her mother, who then reported the matter to the police, leading to Ajayi's arrest at a prayer mountain.
Upon his arraignment, Ajayi faced two counts of rape and defilement. He confessed to the alleged crime, claiming he was under a “generational curse” beyond his comprehension. He further admitted, “I eventually did it, but I didn’t know what came over me. I think it’s a generational curse because my father also did it to my sister, his biological daughter. It was just an act to disgrace me.”
The charges against Ajayi contravene Sections 3 (a, b, and c) and 25 of the Ondo State Violence Against Persons Prohibition Laws of Ondo State, 2021. Due to the serious nature of the allegations and Ajayi’s confession, Prosecutor Olowofeso urged the court to remand the defendant, an application supported by an 11-paragraph affidavit.
The defendant’s counsel, Kehinde Osadugba, appealed for a settlement, stating that the victim’s mother had forgiven Ajayi due to his status as the family's breadwinner. However, Magistrate Taiwo Lebi declined this request, emphasizing that Ajayi’s confession provided probable cause for his remand. Magistrate Lebi ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send it to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further advice. The case was subsequently adjourned to November 20, 2025, for review.
