PinkPantheress Makes History as First Female BRIT Awards Producer of the Year

PinkPantheress is set to become the first woman ever to win the Producer of the Year award at the 2026 BRIT Awards.
The 24-year-old Kent-born musician will collect her accolade this Saturday, February 28th, at Co-op Live in Manchester, ending nearly five decades of male dominance in the category.
Historically, the award—first introduced in 1977—has been exclusively awarded to men, including luminaries such as Paul Epworth, David A. Stewart, and Trevor Horn, each winning three times.
Legendary figures like Sir George Martin (1977),Brian Eno (1994, 1996), and Calvin Harris (2019) also share the category’s storied history.
While female producers like Kate Bush and Goldfrapp received nominations, none had previously secured a win.
At 24, PinkPantheress also becomes the youngest winner of the award, surpassing Steve Levine, who was 25 when he won in 1984.
She began producing music at 17 using GarageBand and has led production on all her releases, earning widespread acclaim for her distinctive sound.
Her discography includes the 2023 LP ‘Heaven Knows’ and the 2025 mixtape ‘Fancy That’, which reached No. 3 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart and earned a Mercury Prize nomination.
PinkPantheress also scored a No. 3 Billboard Hot 100 hit in 2023 with Ice Spice on “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2”.
Her style draws heavily on U.K. garage and rave influences, innovatively using samples to craft a unique sound.
Reflecting on her historic win, she said,
“As the first woman to win this award, I’m grateful to be recognized. My music production is the thing I’m proudest of, and I’ve worked really hard at it, so I hope this inspires others to pursue their passion.”
The 2026 BRIT Awards will also honor Mark Ronson for outstanding contribution to music and Noel Gallagher as songwriter of the year.
Artists Olivia Dean and Lola Young lead the nominations with five each, and performances include stars such as Harry Styles, Wolf Alice, Rosalía, and Alex Warren.
