Megan Thee Stallion Tears Up Onstage During Broadway Show Hours After Confirming Klay Thompson Split

Megan Thee Stallion made history earlier this year by becoming the first female-identifying performer to take on the role of Harold Zidler in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, with her eight-week engagement at New York's Al Hirschfeld Theatre running from March 24 through May 17.

But her April 25 performance took on an unexpected emotional dimension after she publicly confirmed her split from Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson earlier that day, citing infidelity and a lack of commitment.

Fan-recorded footage circulating on social media captured the 31-year-old rapper, still in full costume turning away from the audience during curtain call to wipe away tears as the crowd delivered a heartfelt standing ovation, a moment that instantly went viral and drew an outpouring of public support.

In a raw and unfiltered statement shared to her Instagram Stories, Megan detailed the alleged betrayal with pointed specificity, writing: "Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got 'cold feet.'

Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don't know if you can be 'monogamous'????" She also released a formal statement obtained by Billboard, in which she stated: "Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there's no real path forward.

I'm taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity." Thompson has not issued a public response at time of publication. Megan's management has not confirmed whether the breakup will affect the remainder of her Broadway run, which is scheduled to close on May 17.
