Harmony Restored: Fifth Harmony Reunites for Surprise Performance, Camila Cabello Speaks Out

The iconic girl group Fifth Harmony officially reunited on Sunday, August 31, marking their first performance together in seven years. The surprise event unfolded during the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings from Your Hometown tour stop at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, where Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane took to the stage. This reunion occurred eight years after Camila Cabello's departure in late 2016.
Dressed in coordinated all-black outfits, the four-piece mesmerized the crowd with a rendition of their 2015 hit single “Worth It,” a track that famously peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The memorable performance was also streamed live on Samsung TV Plus, allowing a wider audience to witness the historic moment. Normani acknowledged the significance by asking the crowd, “Y’all remember Fifth Harmony?”
The group quickly shared their excitement on social media, posting a video of the reunion on Instagram with the caption, “Where were you on August 31, 2025? Thank you @jonasbrothers for having us. Felt amazing to be back.” Ally Brooke echoed this sentiment in the comments, stating, “That was special!” Notably, former member Camila Cabello also showed her support, commenting with four red heart emojis, a subtle yet heartfelt gesture towards her ex-bandmates. The Jonas Brothers themselves celebrated the moment, sharing a clip on Instagram and expressing, “An honor to have our friends @fifthharmony up on stage tonight in Dallas on the Greetings From Your Hometown Tour.”
Speculation about a reunion had been building for months. Earlier on the day of the performance, Fifth Harmony’s official X account posted for the first time in seven years, writing, “#FifthHarmonyFollowSpree,” which immediately set fans, known as Harmonizers, abuzz. In March, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane had teased the possibility during an interview at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music event. Brooke cautiously stated, “We’ll see… we’re not sure,” while Jane reflected on the group's legacy: “I love that our fans can reminisce on such good times and I love that we’re getting the credit again. Our music was very impactful at the time and I feel like it was kind of overlooked, to be honest. So now that it’s reviving again on its own it just shows our music speaks for itself.” Brooke had also hinted at a potential reunion in a 2023 Billboard interview, saying, “I'm trying to reunite with them, so I think some sort of reunion may happen.”
Fifth Harmony's journey began in 2012 on the second season of the U.S. version of The X Factor. They quickly achieved success with their debut album, Reflection, in 2015, which featured hits like “Worth It.” Their momentum continued with “Work From Home” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign), which reached No. 4 on the Hot 100 in 2016. In December 2016, the group announced Cabello’s departure, stating they were informed via her representatives. Following her exit, Cabello embarked on a highly successful solo career, topping the Hot 100 with “Havana” and “Señorita,” and releasing albums like 2024’s C,XOXO. Fifth Harmony eventually went on hiatus in 2018 to focus on individual projects, a period during which each member explored their own musical paths.
The reunion performance confirms that the door for the group, as Brooke had previously hinted, was indeed open, bringing joy to their long-awaiting fanbase and solidifying their impactful legacy in pop music.
