GoT Stars Sophie Turner and Kit Harington Unleash Brutal Reunion in New Fantasy Horror Trailer!

Nearly seven years after the conclusion of HBO's critically acclaimed series Game of Thrones, two of its most prominent stars, Sophie Turner and Kit Harington, are set to reunite on screen in the upcoming horror thriller titled The Dreadful. Turner, known for her portrayal of Sansa Stark, and Harington, who played Jon Snow across all eight seasons, are featured in the film's first official trailer released by Lionsgate.

The Dreadful is slated for a theatrical release on February 20, 2026. The film's narrative centers on a woman and her mother-in-law, who lead a secluded existence on the outskirts of a town. Their quiet lives are shattered when a mysterious woman from the past re-emerges, triggering a terrifying sequence of events. The movie is directed and written by Natasha Kermani. Producers include Patrick Muldoon, Lucas Jarach, Luke Daniels, Patrick Hibler, Sophie Turner, and Greg Lauritano. The main cast features Sophie Turner as Anne, Kit Harington as Jago, Catherine McDonough as Morwen, and Marcia Gay Harden as Kayna.

Beyond this reunion, both actors have pursued diverse careers since their time in Westeros. Sophie Turner is also making headlines for taking on the iconic lead role of Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider show, which is currently in production. In this series, she will star alongside Jason Isaacs and Sigourney Weaver. Turner previously garnered recognition for her role as a young Jean Grey in Fox's X-Men cinematic universe, culminating in the film Dark Phoenix.

Kit Harington has similarly found success in various projects. He recently appeared as the villain in Mark Wahlberg's straight-to-streaming action sequel, The Family Plan 2, and is set to return as Henry Muck in the latest season of the series Industry. Harington also ventured into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making his debut as Dane Whitman in Eternals several years ago, though his character's future in the MCU appears to be on hold for now.

Interestingly, despite their new projects, the possibility of their return to the Game of Thrones universe has also been a topic of discussion. While neither Turner nor Harington has expressed an immediate desire to revisit their Game of Thrones roles, news recently emerged that HBO is developing a sequel series focused on Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams, as she embarks on a journey west of Westeros. This development suggests that while Kit Harington's previously rumored Jon Snow sequel series was confirmed to be no longer in development a few years ago, the door for potential returns to the expansive Game of Thrones world might not be entirely closed.
