Gemini AI Expands: New Features Hit Google TV

Google has rolled out a major update to Google TV, introducing AI-driven features powered by its Gemini technology. A new “Create” option allows users to experiment with generative tools like Nano Banana and Veo, bringing image and video creation directly to the living room. These features are debuting on select TCL devices in the U.S., with wider support expected soon.

Nano Banana enables users to edit or generate images using simple voice prompts, from changing outfits to creating entirely new scenes.

Meanwhile, Veo allows users to generate short video clips or animate still images based on descriptive inputs. Together, these tools aim to transform passive TV viewing into an interactive, creative experience tailored for households.

Google has also upgraded Google Photos on TV, adding AI-powered search to quickly locate specific memories and a “Remix” feature for artistic transformations.

A new “Dynamic Slideshows” option enhances how photos are displayed, turning collections into visually rich presentations.

Additionally, Google TV will now feature a dedicated short-form video row, integrating content from YouTube Shorts directly on the home screen.
