Epstein Scandal Explodes Anew: Never-Before-Seen Photos Link Andrew and Mandelson to Notorious Financier

A previously unseen photograph featuring Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Peter Mandelson, and Jeffrey Epstein has recently emerged from the vast collection of Epstein-related files released by the US Department of Justice. This image marks the first known time the disgraced former prince, the former US ambassador, and the convicted financier were captured together. The trio is depicted in a relaxed outdoor setting, seated around a wooden table adorned with mugs decorated with the American flag. Mountbatten-Windsor and Mandelson are notably in bathrobes and barefoot, while Epstein appears fully clothed. It is widely believed the photograph was taken on Martha’s Vineyard, an exclusive island off Cape Cod in Massachusetts, frequented by the affluent.
While no specific date or location was initially provided for this particular photograph within the millions of released files, its resemblance to a similar image of Mandelson found in Epstein’s 50th birthday book from 2003 offers some context. In that birthday book, Mandelson reportedly referred to Epstein as “my best pal” and was shown grinning in a white bathrobe opposite Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein tragically died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on grave sex-trafficking charges, having previously been convicted of child sex offenses in 2008 and serving an 18-month sentence which included house arrest.
Both Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Peter Mandelson are prominently featured multiple times within the extensive Epstein files. These documents include images of Mountbatten-Windsor bent over an unidentified female and lying across the laps of women, as well as photographs of Mandelson in his underwear and receiving a foot massage. It is crucial to note that the mere appearance in these documents does not inherently imply any wrongdoing on their part.
However, both men have faced significant public scrutiny and fallout concerning their associations with Epstein. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly the Duke of York, was stripped of his royal titles and directed to vacate his 30-room residence in Windsor. He was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office following allegations of sharing confidential material with Epstein during his tenure as the UK’s trade envoy. Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any misconduct. Furthermore, emails from the DOJ disclosures reveal he invited Epstein to Buckingham Palace just days after his custodial sentence ended, describing Epstein's freedom as "really, really good news" and discussing multi-billion-pound deals and meeting younger women with the financier's assistance shortly after his release from house arrest. Embarrassing images from the files also show him leaning over a young woman whose face is redacted.
Peter Mandelson’s career also suffered due to his ties to Epstein. He was dismissed from his role as the UK’s ambassador to Washington last September and subsequently resigned from the House of Lords in February. Mandelson was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, accused of leaking sensitive government information to Epstein while serving as business secretary in Gordon Brown’s cabinet. He too has denied any wrongdoing, with his lawyers affirming his cooperation with the ongoing police investigation. Financial documents indicate Epstein may have sent Mandelson $75,000 and paid £10,000 for an osteopathy course for his husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silva, although Mandelson claims no recollection or record of receiving this sum. Mandelson is also known to have stayed at Epstein's Manhattan property while Epstein was serving a prison sentence.
The political repercussions of Mandelson’s appointment as UK ambassador to Washington have also come to light. Prime Minister Keir Starmer faced considerable scrutiny for this decision and later apologized for his handling of the appointment, stating, "It was me that made a mistake, and it’s me that makes the apology to the victims of [Jeffrey] Epstein." Newly released UK government documents detailed 147 pages related to Mandelson, revealing that vetting procedures explicitly highlighted the "particularly close" relationships both Mandelson and Mountbatten-Windsor maintained with Epstein post-conviction. Despite Starmer's insistence that Mandelson "lied repeatedly" to No 10 about his relationship, the dossier warned of a "general reputational risk" and the potential for the Prime Minister to "personally" bear the blame. National security adviser Jonathan Powell also raised "concerns" about Mandelson's reputation, describing the appointment process as "weirdly rushed." Mandelson later received a £75,000 "special severance package" after his removal, having initially requested £547,000.
Both Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Peter Mandelson have since been released under investigation. Discussions within the Royal Family, including King Charles III, reportedly involved removing Mountbatten-Windsor from the line of succession this week.
