‘The Rings of Power’ Season 3 Sets November Premiere as Prime Video Reveals First Look
Prime Video has confirmed a November 11 premiere for The Rings of Power Season 3, with a first look teasing Gandalf’s return and the escalating war against Sauron.
Prime Video has confirmed that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will return for its third season on November 11, 2026, taking viewers back to Middle-earth for the next stage of the conflict against Sauron.
The new season will take place several years after the events of Season 2, when the Elves suffered major losses and Sauron strengthened his campaign for control of Middle-earth.
A Darker War Begins
According to the official Season 3 announcement from Prime Video, the story will unfold during the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron.
Sauron will seek to complete the One Ring, using its power to gain control over the other Rings of Power and dominate Middle-earth.
The approaching war is expected to place the kingdoms of Elves, Men and Dwarves under increasing pressure as old alliances are tested.
First Look at Gandalf
A promotional image displayed ahead of San Diego Comic-Con offered fans an early look at Daniel Weyman’s Gandalf in the upcoming season.
The image shows the wizard wearing grey robes, a pointed hat and carrying a wooden staff, further establishing his transformation from the mysterious Stranger introduced during the first season.
The Gandalf first-look image has increased anticipation surrounding his role in the battle against Sauron.
Returning Cast and New Additions
Charlie Vickers will return as Sauron, alongside Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Robert Aramayo as Elrond and Daniel Weyman as Gandalf.
Other returning cast members include Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Sophia Nomvete and Lloyd Owen.
New additions include Jamie Campbell Bower, Eddie Marsan and Andrew Richardson, although details about some of their characters remain undisclosed.
Prime Video Expands Middle-earth
The Rings of Power remains one of Prime Video’s most ambitious fantasy productions since its debut in 2022.
The November premiere was among several announcements made during Amazon MGM Studios’ 2026 presentation, which also included new shows and renewals across the streaming platform.
Season 3 is expected to explore the consequences of Sauron’s return, the creation of the One Ring and the alliances that will eventually shape the future of Middle-earth.
