The Super Eagles of Nigeria delivered a commanding masterclass performance, securing a dominant 2-0 victory over Algeria in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final match on Saturday at the Grand Stade de Marrakech. This triumph marked Nigeria’s 16th appearance in the last four of the AFCON, with this particular effort being hailed as one of the most unimpeachable en route to the semi-finals. With this win, the Super Eagles will now face host nation Morocco in what promises to be a highly anticipated showdown.

The goals came in the second half, breaking a first-half deadlock where Nigeria dominated possession but couldn't find the net. Two minutes into the restart, Victor Osimhen opened the scoring with a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque header, converting a pinpoint deep cross from Bruno Onyemaechi from the left flank.
