Clippers' Star Max Strus Sidelined for a Month with Foot Injury!

The LA Clippers are facing significant injury challenges as they prepare for the upcoming NBA season, with wing Max Strus being the latest casualty. Strus suffered a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot during the team's preseason opener in Hawaii on Sunday. This noncontact injury occurred just five minutes into the game when Strus, while cutting across the lane to receive a pass, suddenly pulled up lame and struggled to put weight on his right foot. Clippers coach Ty Lue immediately called a timeout, and Strus had to slowly limp off the court to the locker room.

Following the team's return flight from Honolulu, tests conducted in Los Angeles confirmed the severity of the injury as a partial plantar fascia tear. Strus is now scheduled to be reevaluated in four weeks, which means he will miss a considerable portion of the preseason and likely the start of the regular season.

This injury to Max Strus adds to an already lengthy list of sidelined players for the Clippers, further highlighting their short-handed status. Brandon Ingram, a key acquisition from the Toronto Raptors in the Kawhi Leonard trade and expected to be a leading scorer for the team, is still in recovery. Ingram underwent heel surgery and had a partially torn Achilles repaired in May. He has only recently progressed to light court work and is confirmed to miss the beginning of the regular season.

In addition to Strus and Ingram, veteran guard Bradley Beal is currently out due to right knee inflammation. Second-year center Yanic Konan Niederhauser is also sidelined with a foot injury. These multiple injuries present a considerable hurdle for the Clippers as they look to build chemistry and cohesion before their regular season opener on October 21 against the Sacramento Kings.
