Celebrity Traitors Finale: Alan Carr's Victory Sparks Fan Outcry for Movie Adaptation Amidst Train Explosion Drama

The highly anticipated final of The Celebrity Traitors on BBC saw comedian Alan Carr emerge as the unexpected winner, stunning both his fellow contestants and millions of viewers. The series, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, initially began in October with 19 famous faces, and appointed Alan Carr, singer Cat Burns, and ITV presenter Jonathan Ross as the traitors. Throughout the series, the faithfuls struggled to identify the traitors, with this season's batch being described as the worst-performing faithfuls in the show's history.
Leading into the intense finale on Thursday night, November 6, traitors Alan Carr and Cat Burns were poised to face faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, and David Olusoga one last time. Prior to the broadcast, the BBC issued a statement urging fans to avoid sharing potential spoilers, as the final had aired earlier than intended for subscribers of Canada's Crave streaming service.
The final episode kicked off with a thrilling challenge where the five remaining contestants met Claudia at a train station. They embarked on the 'Traitors Express,' tasked with collecting keys to retrieve five gold bars, each valued at £5,000, within a strict 20-minute timeframe. With explosives planted at the end of the line, the group managed to escape with an additional £20,000 for the prize fund before the train dramatically exploded. This explosive challenge garnered significant attention online, with viewers comparing it to a 'heist movie' and praising its dramatic nature.
Following the challenge, one of the most heated roundtables of the series ensued. Faithfuls David, Joe, and Nick aired their suspicions, leading to Cat Burns being banished and sent home empty-handed. However, the game took an unforeseen turn when Nick became convinced that Joe was a traitor, particularly after hearing Joe express an apology to Cat as she departed. This suspicion led to a major twist in the endgame, where Nick, with the agreement of Alan and David, decided to banish Joe, who was in fact a faithful.
With only Alan, David, and Nick remaining, they deliberated whether to end the game. Believing they were all faithfuls, they agreed to conclude the series. In a moment that left viewers speechless and his fellow finalists stunned, Alan Carr then revealed his true identity as a traitor, securing his victory. An emotional Alan, who had surprised many with his strategic gameplay, walked away with £87,500 for his chosen charity, acknowledging the difficulty of deceiving his friends.
Fans of the series quickly took to social media, expressing awe at Alan's 'stunning' and unexpected win, with many hailing the episode as one of the best in British television. The excitement continued as the BBC released a teaser trailer confirming the return of the public version of The Traitors for its fourth series. This next installment is anticipated to premiere in the New Year or 2026, promising more twists and viral moments for eagerly awaiting audiences.
