Bruno Mars Confirms Completion of Highly Anticipated New Album

Global superstar Bruno Mars has officially announced that his long-awaited new solo album is finished, marking his first major solo project since the 2016 Grammy-sweeping LP, 24K Magic. The announcement, made on January 5 via social media, immediately sparked excitement among fans and music industry observers eager for fresh material from the multi-talented pop icon.
24K Magic was a cultural and commercial phenomenon, producing chart-topping hits such as “That’s What I Like” and the eponymous title track. Its success culminated in a historic night at the 2018 Grammy Awards, where Mars took home six major trophies, solidifying his status as one of contemporary music’s most dominant forces.
Despite the nearly decade-long gap since his last solo album, Mars has remained active in the music scene through high-profile collaborations. Notably, in 2021 he joined forces with Anderson .Paak to form the superduo Silk Sonic. Their debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, was a critically acclaimed tribute to 1970s funk and soul, which also achieved multiple Grammy wins, demonstrating Mars’s enduring artistic relevance and versatility.
Mars has continued to expand his influence across global music trends. In 2024, he featured on the viral hit “APT.” alongside BLACKPINK’s Rosé. The track became the first No. 1 song by a K-pop artist on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart and maintained a record-breaking 19-week reign atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. By November 27, 2025, the song had accumulated nearly 4.9 billion official global streams, earning multiple awards and three Grammy nominations, including Record and Song of the Year.
Beyond collaborations, Mars has worked with Lady Gaga on “Die With a Smile” in 2024 and released the playful track “Fat Juicy & Wet” with Sexyy Red in 2025, showcasing his ability to diversify his discography and explore various musical genres while retaining his signature style.
Interestingly, Mars has also maintained ties to rock music, performing at a recent corporate holiday event alongside legends like Slash, Eddie Vedder, and Brandi Carlile. This experience hints at the eclectic influences and live instrumentation that could shape the sound of his upcoming album, suggesting that fans might expect both familiarity and fresh innovation in his next project.
With a decade-spanning legacy of chart-topping hits, critical acclaim, and global recognition, Bruno Mars’s new solo album is poised to mark another milestone in a career defined by creativity, versatility, and commercial dominance.
