Breaking: 'The Boys' Stars Confirm Perilous Season 5 Ahead for All

Stars Jack Quaid and Karl Urban recently sat down with Collider's Steve Weintraub to discuss the highly anticipated fifth and final season of Prime Video's hit series, The Boys. After dominating streaming charts for nearly a decade, the show is gearing up for its ultimate showdown, with creator Eric Kripke warning that "no one is safe."
At the close of Season 4, the core team found themselves scattered: Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) were sent to a "Freedom Camp"; Annie (Erin Moriarty) was tasked with organizing resistance against Homelander's (Antony Starr) escalating Supe force; and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) was on a path to disrupt things with a Supe-killing virus. Urban confirmed that fans will indeed see the team reunite, stating, "It's really kind of the first time since Season 1 or 2 that all the boys are together, just going out there on missions, taking down Supes." This reunion promises a return to the group's classic dynamic, which was somewhat fractured in Seasons 3 and 4.
Both actors expressed confidence in the Season 5 finale, with Quaid noting his experience reading the scripts as a fan. He explained that this season carries significant weight due to the high stakes, where "no character is safe." The emotional impact of characters meeting their fate resonated deeply with the cast, given their long-standing involvement with the show and their relationships with the actors. Urban particularly enjoyed the season because it brought the team back together for missions, making it a "super fun season to shoot."
Regarding which episodes fans should anticipate most, Urban suggested the final two, stating, "Episode 7 into 8, I think, is really where a lot of the heart of the show lies." Quaid echoed this sentiment, and both expressed immense gratitude to the fans for their dedication, from watching the show to creating fan art and cosplays. They hinted at a special watch party or event planned by Amazon for the series finale, emphasizing that after nine years, the series will "finish with a bang." The Boys Season 5 is set to debut on Prime Video on April 8, with new episodes released every Wednesday.
Beyond The Boys, Jack Quaid also shared an exciting update for fans of My Adventures with Superman, teasing that Season 3 is "coming out soon." He confirmed that he's been recording ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) and considers it potentially his favorite season of the show. Quaid highlighted that the upcoming season features some exciting standalone episodes and is arguably the funniest yet. He appreciates being involved in two superhero shows that represent "two sides of the superhero coin," contrasting the gritty nature of The Boys with Superman's lighthearted and dorky heroism focused on saving cats and trees.
Karl Urban also discussed his role in Mortal Kombat II, describing it as "the film that fans have been asking for." He expressed immense satisfaction with the movie, noting its phenomenal test screenings and calling it "the best of Mortal Kombat that has been committed to film." Urban emphasized that it's an action-packed film meant to be seen on the big screen, promising that fans of the game and its "preposterous degrees of physicality" will be very happy. He, along with Quaid, is eagerly awaiting its release.
