Blockbuster Transfer Alert: Osimhen's €150M PSG Move Hinges on Key Condition

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is meticulously planning a significant overhaul of its attacking lineup, targeting the 2026-27 season. At the forefront of their shortlist for a new striker is Victor Osimhen, the 27-year-old forward currently enjoying another prolific spell in Europe. Head coach Luis Enrique is seeking a more decisive presence in attack, and Osimhen's name consistently emerges as a primary candidate.
However, the potential move for Osimhen is contingent upon a key condition: the departure of Goncalo Ramos. The 24-year-old Ramos has garnered interest from several prominent European clubs, including Juventus, AC Milan, and Aston Villa. Should Ramos leave the Parc des Princes this summer, PSG intends to swiftly secure a striker who aligns perfectly with Enrique’s tactical requirements.
Osimhen is believed to fit this profile impeccably. He has cultivated a reputation as one of the most complete No. 9s in contemporary football, renowned for his exceptional blend of pace, physical strength, and relentless pressing. These attributes make him a constant threat, particularly in high-stakes competitions like the UEFA Champions League. PSG is reportedly looking for a striker capable of stretching opposition defenses, dominating within the penalty area, and consistently performing in crucial moments – all qualities Osimhen has demonstrated with remarkable consistency over the past two seasons.
Financially, the deal presents a significant challenge. While reports indicate PSG has explored offers around €100 million, Galatasaray, Osimhen's current club, is firmly holding out for approximately €150 million for their star player. Osimhen remains under contract in Istanbul until 2029, strengthening Galatasaray's negotiating position. They are under no pressure to sell and his contract does not include an active release clause, meaning any transfer will require PSG to meet their valuation.
This high valuation is a testament to Osimhen’s impressive output. This season, he has already contributed 20 goals and eight assists in 32 matches, continuing the prolific form that has established him as one of Europe's most feared forwards. This follows a previous campaign where he scored 26 league goals in 30 appearances, further underscoring his consistent goal-scoring prowess. Beyond the transfer fee, PSG would also need to accommodate Osimhen’s substantial wage demands, which are estimated to be between €15 million and €18 million annually.
Despite the considerable financial investment, PSG views Osimhen as a low-risk proposition from a footballing perspective. His prior experience in France with LOSC Lille offers a crucial advantage; he is already accustomed to the pace, physicality, and demands of Ligue 1. This familiarity could enable him to make an immediate and significant impact, a factor PSG is eager to secure following varied results in recent European campaigns.
