Marvel Studios is preparing for a major comeback in 2026 with two blockbuster releases.

The first, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” swings into theaters at the end of July.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker for his fourth solo film, joined by Mark Ruffalo reprising his MCU role.

The movie also introduces Jon Bernthal and Sadie Sink to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Later in the year, “Avengers: Doomsday” hits screens on December 18, 2026.

Originally announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 and replacing the canceled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the film features Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU, this time as the villain Doctor Doom.

The ensemble cast includes Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing).

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo with a script by Stephen McFeely, Michael Waldron, Jack Kirby, and Stan Lee, the film promises a superhero-sci-fi spectacle.

A box office complication arises as “Dune: Part Three” will release on the same day and hold IMAX exclusivity in the U.S., limiting Avengers: Doomsday to select international IMAX locations.

While this may affect domestic earnings, Marvel is expected to draw strong global performance thanks to its returning icons.

Strategic adjustments, such as potential shifts in release timing, are under consideration to maximize IMAX availability.
