Anticipation Builds: Ken Carson Unveils New Album 'xperiment' Release Date
Ken Carson has announced his new album "xperiment," set for release on July 3, following a series of significant career milestones. This includes a Billboard 200 No. 1 album, major festival performances, and an expanding global footprint, solidifying his status as a rising force in music.
Ken Carson has officially announced his highly anticipated new album, "xperiment," slated for release on July 3 via Opium/Interscope Records. The album announcement was accompanied by a captivating short film, teasing what promises to be another significant project from the Atlanta-born rapper. This announcement caps a momentous period for Carson, marked by key performances and significant chart achievements.
Carson recently made headlines at Summer Smash in Chicago, where he joined label boss Playboi Carti on stage during Carti’s festival-closing headlining set. Together, they performed their unreleased track, "Cover My Ears," generating considerable buzz. Further solidifying his growing prominence, Carson has also been announced as a headliner for ComplexCon 2026, set for Saturday, October 3, in Los Angeles. This performance will be part of Opium’s significant takeover commemorating the festival’s 10th-anniversary celebration.
"xperiment" follows the immense success of Carson’s 2025 album, "More Chaos," which impressively debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This marked Carson’s first-ever top 10 entry on the chart, achieving this milestone with 59,500 equivalent album units and notably displacing Playboi Carti from the summit. "More Chaos" built upon the foundation laid by his earlier works, "A Great Chaos" (No. 11, 2023) and "X" (No. 115, 2022).
The momentum surrounding "More Chaos" was significantly amplified by "Off the Meter," a surprise bonus track released on launch night. This track garnered attention as the first official collaboration between Carson, Playboi Carti, and Destroy Lonely. Carson's live prowess was further demonstrated last month at Rolling Loud Orlando 2026, where he delivered what many observers described as a career-defining performance. He closed out the Under Armour Stage with his first-ever Sunday night headlining set at the festival, previewing music from "xperiment" alongside tracks from "More Chaos" and "A Great Chaos." The set also featured surprise appearances from notable artists including Lil Tecca, Destroy Lonely, Young Thug, and Playboi Carti.
Beyond his musical releases and electrifying stage presence, Ken Carson has cultivated a substantial cultural footprint through extensive touring, including an 80-date Chaos World Tour and a sold-out WTF headline run across Europe and the UK. He has also engaged in high-profile fashion collaborations with brands like Affliction, SKIMS x Cactus Plant Flea Market, and Jesse Jo Stark’s Deadly Doll line. Carson is set to continue his busy schedule with several European festival appearances this summer, including Roskilde in Denmark, Splash! in Germany, Openair Frauenfeld in Switzerland, Clout Festival in Poland, and Frequency Festival in Austria.
